The 99: اَلاسْمَاءُ الْحُسناى ("The 99", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is an application for exploring and learning the 99 Names and Attributes of Allah (Al-Asma-ul-Husna), with pronunciation audio, memorization quizzes, daily reminders, and Quran recitation.
1. Information We Collect
We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, payment information, or user-generated content.
The names content and pronunciation audio for the 99 Names are included in the App and stored locally on your device. Your use of this content does not require sending the content to us.
Favorites and other locally stored app information remain on your device unless the App itself requires a network connection for a particular feature.
2. Push Notifications
The App uses the OneSignal SDK to provide push notifications.
When push notification functionality is enabled, OneSignal registers a device push token and device identifiers associated with the App. These identifiers are used to support push notification functionality.
We do not use these identifiers to create a user account, and the App does not ask you to provide personal identity information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
For more information about OneSignal's privacy practices, please refer to OneSignal's Privacy Policy.
3. Local Notifications
The App can schedule daily notifications using the notification system provided by your device's operating system.
The App uses scheduled notifications for the morning reminder at 9:00 and the evening reminder at 21:00.
These locally scheduled notifications are handled by the operating system on your device.
4. Quran Audio
Quran recitation is streamed from a public third-party audio host:
download.quranicaudio.com
The Quran audio feature requires an internet connection.
The App does not require you to log in to access Quran recitation. The App does not intentionally send your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, payment information, or other personal profile information to the Quran audio host.
As with any network request, your device and network provider may transmit standard technical network information required to establish and deliver the connection.
The third-party host operates independently from us. Its own privacy practices may apply when you access its audio resources.
5. Analytics, Advertising and Crash Reporting
The App does not contain an analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or crash-reporting SDK.
The App does not display advertisements.
The App does not contain in-app purchases.
6. Background Audio and Device Permissions
The Android version may request permissions required for internet access, notifications, background audio playback, scheduled alarms, and restarting scheduled functionality after a device reboot.
These permissions are used only to provide the corresponding App functionality.
The App does not use these permissions to collect your contacts, location, photos, or other personal information.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We do not operate an advertising network and do not use advertising SDKs.
The OneSignal SDK receives the device push token and device identifiers needed for push notification functionality.
Quran recitation is provided through the public third-party audio host described above.
8. Data Retention
The App's 99 Names content and audio are stored locally on your device.
Locally stored App information may remain on your device until you remove it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, depending on your device and operating system.
Push notification information handled through OneSignal may be retained according to OneSignal's systems and applicable retention practices.
Because the App does not create a user account, we do not maintain a user account containing your personal profile information.
9. Data Deletion
You may remove locally stored App data by using the controls provided by your operating system, including clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App where supported.
If you want to request deletion of device or push-notification information associated with your use of The 99, contact:
Please include enough information for us to identify the relevant device or push-notification record without sending unnecessary personal information.
We will process valid deletion requests in accordance with applicable law and the capabilities of the relevant third-party service.
10. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly require children to provide personal information.
The App does not require an account, sign-in, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or payment information.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at:
11. International Users
The App may be available to users in different countries. If you use network-based features such as Quran recitation or push notifications, information required to provide those services may be processed by the relevant third-party service providers.
You are responsible for reviewing the applicable privacy practices of those third-party providers where relevant.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality, data practices, or legal requirements change.
When we update the policy, we will change the effective date shown at the top of this page.
